Ze cuteness

Meet my kimmidolls.
(paki click nalang po ang picture, for you to see the entire thing)

I had a hard time deciding which doll would befit me (yes, para akong tanga). I took the values/virtue seriously eh.  Thus, after several trips, I ended up buying my first Kimmidoll--Choya, which (according to her profile) stood for 'belief'. Choya became my birthday present to *eherm* myself.  At dahil feeling special ako, I celebrated my birthday for a month. hehe. Then came Michiko (hindi dahil 'wise' ang translation nya, okay--dahil black ang buhok nya, at mega mukha syang donya. hehe. oh well--sige na nga, baka nga dahil sa translation nya :P), then Etsumi. Etsumi had red hair, egad! Naastigan ako sa kanya, pramis. My sister suggested I get her, kasi she's the only one with eyes open--'dilat' ba. :) Para bang it symbolised taking in life with eyes wide open (sabi na eh, I thrive on melodrama).

L-R: Choya (belief), Etsumi (delight), Michiko (wise)

Diba ang kyut nila. Para silang girl band crossed with your friendly neighbourhood triad.

Salamat Connie!

jay: o? (wtf look)
ako: oo, gusto kong maging part nung future integrated resorts (excited). Parang napaka saya at promising.
jay: ah..ano ginagawa nun?
ako: edi nagma manage ng cage. anubah.

cake.
(narrating this is an irony, because it's a conversation between me (rica) and a friend (rica). yes, I actually have 2 friends named rica (not counting myself, anubuh).

on being a barely there, struggling academic in Singapore...
rica: at ano naman yung other side of things?
rica: ako, feeling ko this thing happening--is like an all day party. pero walang masaya.
ako: syet.

You Don't know me (with Regina Spektor)

I wanna ask you -
Do you ever sit and wonder,
It's so strange
That we could be together for
So long, and never know, never care
What goes on in the other one's head?

Things I've felt but I've never said
You said things that I never said
So I'll say something that I should have said long ago:

(You don't know me)
You don't know me at all
(You don't know me)
You don't know me at all (at all)

You could have just propped me up on the table like a mannequin
Or a cardboard stand-up and paint me (paint me)
Any face that you wanted me
To be seen.
We're
Damned by the existential moment where
We saw the couple in the coma and
It was we were the cliché,
But we carried on anyway.

So, sure, I could just close my eyes.
Yeah, sure, trace and memorize,
But can you go back once you know

(You don't know me)
You don't know me at all
(You don't know me)
You don't know me at all (at all)

(You don't know me)
You don't know me at all
(You don't know me)
You don't know me

If I'm the person that you think I am (Ah ah ahh)
Clueless chump you seem to think I am (Ah ah ahhh)
So easily led astray,
An errant dog who occasionally escapes and needs a shorter leash, then
Why the f**k would you want me back?!

Maybe it's because

(You don't know me at all)

Ahhh ah
Ahhh ah

(You don't know me,
you don't know me.)

Ahhh ah
Ahhh ah

So, what I'm trying to say is
What (What?)
I'm trying to tell you
It's not gonna come out like I wanna say it cause I know you'll only change it.
(Say it.)

(You don't know me)
You don't know me at all
(You don't know me)
You don't know me at all (at all)

(You don't know me)
You don't know me at all
(You don't know me)
You don't know me at all (at all)

What?

ayun.

Bersday Espeysyal : 7 things Retro

caption: "so what about prinsipe k?" (hahaha)

1. I got my name from my my mother's 'barely-teenage phase' crush (grade six! anubah) : Henry Castaneda. Being the creative person that she was (with hormones in supersonic), she thought of a  secret code name for this crush, thus RICA (HenRICAstaneda). She then added in her name (Agnes).  If ever you get to visit my grandma's house in San Juan Batangas, dont be surprised should you chance upon any plate, saucer or cutlery engraved with the name 'Rica'. They're not mine, mind you. They're all waay older than me.
Recognition day with my mother's sixth grade crush
(was her kuya's lowerclassman in college).

2. I have this really funny head shape. *sigh* It even looks out of proportion. My mother read it as intelligence. Me thinks it's when forceps fail the first time.
lookatdat head!

yes--I pose like this very so often.

3. I studied Nursery at the Filomenita F. Legarda Learning Center in Ba
lic-balic Sampaloc. When I read Bob Ong's ABNKKBSNPLAko???, I knew what the guy was talking about.
I'm very easy to spot. Look for the 'bewildered' kid.

4. Growing up, I never experienced the joy of wearing my hair long. It's always that darn apple cut.
and tintin used to have straight hair. nyahaha

5. I miss my mother sometimes, I wish there can be one 'unscary' instance that we could talk again. (gusto kong malaman kung ano ba ang totoong ni-wish nya when she was having me, nang hindi na ako mahirapang mag isip kung ano ang dapat kong gawin sa buhay ko. haha)
another dance move, by miss maribeth bichara.

6. I--egad...I used to be thin. :( or slimmer.  or whatever. now all things are just relative. paksyet.
Chorus of Arts and Letters '01: We cater to all your choir needs. Kumakanta din kami sa mga lamay.

7. just over the weekends, my husband made this video project which involved almost every special person in my life. waw.

ayun lang.

gusto ko munang mag thank you

the birthday doodle. by the husband. kewl noh? :)
(can't see? click the image)

Kay Lord, kasi he's been very good to me, despite my shortcomings.
I've been very quick to judge myself according to my failures
and things which I thought 'should be'.
I sometimes (-er, most of the time) forget to be grateful for all the blessings he has showered upon me: a loving family, the coolest husband in the world (o, walang kokontra--i, ze berday girl said so :P ), old friends, new found friends and acquiantances.
Happy Birthday to me. teehee.
Salamat ulet.

Ayan.

(I'll post pictures laters)
