Hay, John Lloyd

After these past few days' movie marathons with Jay, I therefore conclude that John Lloyd Cruz just replaced Kjwan dude Marc Abaya as my celebrity mega crush. In fairness to Marc Abaya-- he made so easy for me to let go. That episode of him with Maegan Aguilar was a total turn off, malaman man natin ng katotohanan or hindi. Now John Lloyd may not come out so clean after all, pero omaaygas--i rest my case. :)

Kaya pala I continue to wear swatch

Of course we're watching this. :)

Karir, circa 2003 (after graduation)

I came across this aged newsletter upload from the Singapore Embassy in Manila just recently. Aba. I have a newspaper cutting of the picture below (yung may banner, at ka-height ko yung ambassadress ng Singapore. hehe). Thankfully the newsletter archives of the Singapore Embassy was brimming with info-all you can.
The caption read: Ambassador Lim Kheng Hua (fifth from right) with Congressman Nereus Acosta at the SIF-ASEAN Student Fellowship award ceremony held at the Singapore Embassy. This year's fellows are: (L-R) Tina ALejandra Firmalo, Jayeel Cornelio, Nicklaus Erick Sy, Martin Angelo Sunaz, Rica Agnes Castaneda, Kaisy Mae Cortez and Sam Christopher Lim.

Eto yung time na nagpunta si Mr Purisima (then-from), SGV. Hindi ko ito malilimutan, kasi josko, first time ko (naming lahat) sa No Sign Board Seafood sa may Esplanade. Allergic ako sa alimango, pero napakain ako ng chilli at black pepper crab (the Best I've ever tasted, not that I've tasted many. haha). Ugh.

Ano ba

Ito yung certificate of employment ko, na kelangan daw to process our loan. So fine. Nag check tuloy ako via tracking t lo and behold--nasa customs ito. CUSTOMS.

Ewan ko, sana walang involved na suhol ito, kasi talaga namang hell hath no fury like a woman extorted.

Singapore Toy and Comic Convention (pant, pant...ang haba)

Remember last year's toycon with Stella (and AJ who joined in, right then and there)?
This year was Coco's turn.

above: this is a classic 'whodahellareyou??' award

I fear that Coco has a penchant for scruffy looking boxer-wannabes, with 'make shift' X for their navels, most probably in their underpants.

We *heart* you, Mr Monopoly Guy.

attack of the Blythes! The Fairy Sprites (above shelf) scared the hell out of us. hehe. Below are some of the finalists for the Blythe beauty contest held in Tokyo (last year? not sure). hehe.

Coco (finally) meets 'the godmother'. Looking 'maton' and all, Ge texted us his whereabouts when we were on our way to the convention hall: 'Dito ako sa may pink na arko'. Ah, he found the Blythe exhibition. (more of drawn to-- i believe. :) )

This photo op elicited so much laughter in the galleries. The storm trooper is a fan!

A whole area for uglydolls! i may have wet myself. :P

Aha! Bumblebee got the memo. :)

Sana may makapag-confirm.

If this is a genuine caption, ang masasabi ko lang ay isa itong nakakatawang pagkakamali.
at isang mahabang AHAHAHAHA. :)
thank you.

Rest in Peace

I believe it's been a long while.

--00--

Ladies man itong si Jack, at isang napaka buting kaibigan. I guess we really had a good time with him, so it's hard not to reminisce every now and then. Sa simula, he'll strike you as a devil-may-care party person or kung hindi naman, malakas lang mag-trip. Kaso he'll surprise you every now and then, with his random acts of kindness and sincerity.

Noong December pa, last year. Actually, writing that he passed away is putting it mildly.

Body of kidnapped trader dumped in Candaba

Monday, December 15, 2008. Sun Star Pampanga

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- The body of a Rizal-based businessman who was earlier kidnapped by still unidentified men was found in a grassy area in Barangay Mangumbali, Candaba last Sunday morning.

Reports reaching Central Luzon police director Leon Nilo dela Cruz identified the victim as Domingo Caezar Boniol, 31, of Angono, Rizal.

His Toyota Hilux pick-up truck was found also on Sunday by members of the regional Highway Patrol Group headed by Senior Superintendent Fernando Villanueva in Guagua town.

Investigation showed that Boniol whose family reportedly has animal feeds and veterinary products business was last seen when he left his office around 9 a.m. last December 10.

Around 11 p.m. on the same day, the victim's wife received a call from kidnappers who allegedly demanded P2 million for his release.

It was not immediately known what transpired afterwards.

The victim was strangled with "guile wire knotted in metal tube," according to a police report.

Boniol was blindfolded and his feet and wrists were wrapped with wires and gray-colored packaging tape.

The victim's body was brought to a funeral parlor in Arayat town for autopsy. (JAM)

Bakit ganon?

Hindi ko alam--the very knowledge that he's gone is very unsettling. Para bang nung nandyan pa sya, and you didn't really think about it that much--things were the same. It felt safe. For some reason, it did. And now that he's gone--these places you used to be in--they no longer 'feel' safe at all.

Rest in peace, Domingo Caezar 'Jack' Boniol.

Jack--'ayos ba tayo dyan?' :(
