Rest in Peace

I believe it's been a long while.

--00--

Ladies man itong si Jack, at isang napaka buting kaibigan. I guess we really had a good time with him, so it's hard not to reminisce every now and then. Sa simula, he'll strike you as a devil-may-care party person or kung hindi naman, malakas lang mag-trip. Kaso he'll surprise you every now and then, with his random acts of kindness and sincerity.

Noong December pa, last year. Actually, writing that he passed away is putting it mildly.

Body of kidnapped trader dumped in Candaba

Monday, December 15, 2008. Sun Star Pampanga

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- The body of a Rizal-based businessman who was earlier kidnapped by still unidentified men was found in a grassy area in Barangay Mangumbali, Candaba last Sunday morning.

Reports reaching Central Luzon police director Leon Nilo dela Cruz identified the victim as Domingo Caezar Boniol, 31, of Angono, Rizal.

His Toyota Hilux pick-up truck was found also on Sunday by members of the regional Highway Patrol Group headed by Senior Superintendent Fernando Villanueva in Guagua town.

Investigation showed that Boniol whose family reportedly has animal feeds and veterinary products business was last seen when he left his office around 9 a.m. last December 10.

Around 11 p.m. on the same day, the victim's wife received a call from kidnappers who allegedly demanded P2 million for his release.

It was not immediately known what transpired afterwards.

The victim was strangled with "guile wire knotted in metal tube," according to a police report.

Boniol was blindfolded and his feet and wrists were wrapped with wires and gray-colored packaging tape.

The victim's body was brought to a funeral parlor in Arayat town for autopsy. (JAM)

Bakit ganon?

Hindi ko alam--the very knowledge that he's gone is very unsettling. Para bang nung nandyan pa sya, and you didn't really think about it that much--things were the same. It felt safe. For some reason, it did. And now that he's gone--these places you used to be in--they no longer 'feel' safe at all.

Rest in peace, Domingo Caezar 'Jack' Boniol.

Jack--'ayos ba tayo dyan?' :(
