Ish it jas me?

I mean, I have nothing against them, but really--for some time I thought people think that the solution to world hunger is by becoming CCA-certified. Or kung kanino man--Henny Sison? Jopa Sison..Marco Sison...

Im not even referring to the point and shoot type,
but the slrs and what have you.
I mean, I can debate for and against capitalism,
nagtataas parin ang service fees for these type of so-called 'hobbies'.
Asan ang Economies of scale, diba?
At nasan na ang masarap na pagkain, at art for art's sake (and not merely for investment)?
may gudness.
mainit lang siguro.

Nako, dont get me started with our oversupply of nurses and the irony of the Philippine healthcare system. Pang-conference paper na yan.

anu ba yun

I am so disappointed.
ayaw ng UST magpakuha ng litrato pag weekdays.
Kahit Saturday, di pwede.
Kasi daw? may nagkaklase.
as if papasok kami sa loob ng classroom at magko-kodakan.
as if manggugulo kami.

this is so UST-- may identity crisis. mahilig sa koneksyon at sarado ang isip.

'In the news..': nothing surprises me anymore

In Malaysia-- An UMNO division chief claims he was 'misquoted' when he said their Chinese locals are 'squatters'. To those who have no idea what this context is (a sad reality amongst Filipinos all gung-ho about the impending US elections, but has no idea whatsoever of regional politics, albeit the geographical trappings of southeast asia), Malaysia is not only composed of Malays, it is a multiracial country (there are Indian-Malaysians, Chinese-Malaysians, the other way around, whatever you want to call it), but with Malays as a majority. Having said this, 'Malay' is a race. You can be Malaysian, but not Malay-- similar with Singapore-Malays (they're not called Malaysians, my goodness. anu kaya yun, Singapore-Malaysian? unless binational sila, diba?) So, anyway--ayaw mag sorry ni Datuk Ahmad Ismail. He is, however, demanding an apology.

--00--

oh look who's in 'hot water'? (pun intended) : while our politicians are of showbiz garden variety, the land of smiles and tomyam took it to another level.

--00--

ah. now, after the 'wedding' bit...

Kulto-rera

500 unopened messages. And counting.
Tae nga.
Ngayon, medyo nakaka-isang linggo nako sa samahan.
At naka-digest mode na ako.
Hindi na 500 messages kada araw.
50, or so—nalang.
Ganon ba.
Wala lang.
Saya, diba?

--00--

Sa mga hindi pa nakakaalam,
At sa mga hindi pa nakakapick-up,
I just got engaged.
After 8 years.

BS

If I had the money, skill, time and energy, I would be studying and writing papers on these:

1. ICT and the High Technology Policy in East and Southeast Asian countries.
2. Toponymics (ala-Brenda Yeoh) in selected municipalities in the Philippines: the Politics of place-making and remembering (ang gusto ko sana eh kahit sa Southern Tagalog lang, preferably Laguna. Okay fine, sa amin sa Santa Rosa)
3. Sustainable Tourism on Developing Countries in Southeast Asia
4. Pre colonial political thought in Luzon (gusto ko sana talaga, Mindanao. Gudlak, diba)

And I will be setting up something that has something to do with:
1. doing research on the assesment of the National Disaster Management framework of the Philippines.
2. Improving disaster-prone localities, specifically to make sure their children are safe in evacuation centres (for those who may not know, most evacuation centres are sites for child abuse and molestation in the country).
3. Making sure that the infrastracture rebuilding funds of the municipalities or cities devastated by the disaster is used the best way possible. Kasi not doing it properly usually cause further human displacement.

When you kinda saw it coming...

Masakit na.
tula ng kumare kong si kang

Pinilit nyang imulat ang kanyang mga mata.
Magang maga, namumugto,
Sabi nya’y ‘masakit na’.
Inayos ang tayo, baliwala ang hapdi
Kabog kabog ang dibdib, sa bawat sandali

Tagaktak ang pawis,
Wala na syang mailabas
Walang boses, walang hangin
Ni luhang madulas
Di mawaring malaman kung saan pupunta
Kung uurong, susulong, tatabi o babangga.

Tangan tangan ang maleta
At black eye sa mata (saan pa ba?)

at di ka sasaktan.
